Fit Father Project Podcast
The Fit Father Project Podcast is here, and we're ready to help you ‘take the hill' and conquer your health and fitness enemies.

If you’re a busy guy in your 40s, 50s, and 60s, chances are you have heard that you can no longer reap the benefits of the days of your youth.

Society has told you that it’s not possible for you to stay lean, stay fit, and have the exuberance and energy you once felt and had as a young man.

These constant messages are telling us that it's OK to not be our best selves.

We don’t have to try or stay hungry as we once did when we were young.

We no longer have anything to prove to ourselves.

These messages are also contributing to a larger problem we are not addressing.

Obesity.

In the U.S., today, nearly 50% of all men over 40 are obese.

Being overweight and out of shape is the number one contributor to early death.

And today more men are passing away at younger ages than ever before.

Cancer diagnoses in men are escalating.

Men are being put on prescription meds for blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease at younger ages.

And more families are losing fathers and husbands by the day.

Obesity is the enemy, the one that sits on the top of the hill peering down at us from afar.

We have allowed for far too long to let ourselves lose.

To take the hill is no easy task. There are no quick fixes.

There are no hacks or shortcuts to winning this battle to a better and more healthy life.

The only way to win is to work.

Every day, little by little. And with the right methods, tools, and strategies, together we can help you stand tall against the enemy of obesity and mediocrity and take back your life.

In this, the very first episode of the Fit Father Project Podcast, Dr. Anthony Balduzzi, the Founder and CEO of the Fit Father Project introduces you to the concept of ‘taking the hill’ and changing your life for the better!

You and I are going to raise this flag, this Fit Father flag, and we're going to charge forward in life together. We're going to put an end to the idea that you're over the hill. This idea that when you hit a certain age, it's OK to just roll on your back, put your legs up, and give up — to stop taking care of yourself, to stop striving for all the amazing things you want in life.

Because what I believe is, as men, this is baked into our DNA. This pursuit, the pursuit of becoming the best version of ourselves at any age. Well, we call it here on the podcast, we call it ‘taking the hill.'

All right, my friends. Welcome officially to the very first episode of the Fit Father Project Podcast. My name is Dr. Anthony Balduzzi. I'm the founder and CEO here at the Fit Father Project and the host of this podcast. And I don't say this lightly, I've been looking forward to creating and releasing this podcast for literally years because behind the scenes over the last decade, my Fit Father team and I have dedicated our lives every single day to helping busy guys in their 40s, 50s, and 60s lose weight, build muscle, and get healthy for themselves and their families. And I've wanted to host this show with the mission of taking everything that my team and I have learned and share it all with you so you can get and stay healthy for your family.

So you know how to eat, right? How to get motivated, how to exercise in your 40s, 50s, and 60s, all these important things? Because let's face it, it is harder to stay healthy after 40. I don't need to tell you about all the body changes, the decreasing metabolism, the old injuries that stack up, the busy schedule, the temptations from junk food …

The fact of the matter is, today, right now, is the easiest time ever in history to be unhealthy. And it's showing, as you may have heard, if you listened to the podcast trailer, nearly 50% of all guys who are 40 are overweight. And it's no surprise from stressful jobs, years of not exercising enough, eating crap food — the weight piles on us.

And we know deep down that we can do better, that we want to get the weight off, that we want to get motivated again, that we want to live a long and healthy life. And have a body that looks and feels amazing in our 40s, 50s, and 60s. I get all of that. And there's a reason I get all that. Personally, this is exactly what I saw my dad go through.

Growing up, I watched my dad bust his butt to put food on the table for me, my mom, and my little brother, and in the process, dad got so busy. He lost his health and he eventually died at 42 years young. I was just nine at the time; my little brother was six. And to say that it devastated our lives and rocked our world would be an understatement.

Seeing what dad went through, losing his health, getting sick, and eventually dying, created such an impression on me as a young man, it showed me that health is the foundation of everything we love. And if we make the mistake of not making our health a priority in life, then oftentimes what happens?

Our heart attacks, cancer diagnoses, diabetes, prescription medication, all this stuff we see happening to ourselves, to our friends, and our family. But, I'm here. And my Fit Father and Fit Mother team is here to take a stand to help you fix this, to help your family fix this, and to inspire you with the proven strategies and stories to help you live healthier.

And in thinking about what I want to talk about first, I suppose we need to talk about the problem. How did we get here? How did we get to the point where it is normal and expected that most people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are out of shape? Well, the simple fact is, is that life is trying to derail us in that direction.

And if we don't have a system with our nutrition, if we don't have a system with our exercise and our movement, if we don't have a system that keeps us accountable and on track, we're going to not see results. We're going to do another failed fad diet, where we lose five pounds and regain the same five pounds back.

We're going to go on some hardcore fitness kick for a year, and then we fall off track and we're back to square one. This cycle of yo-yo dieting, not seeing results … it can end when you have the right methods. My team and I have figured out those methods and we're going to share them with you. But first, let's talk about this idea of systems because the answer for you to live healthier is not another diet.

It's not another workout. The gimmick is developing your very own health system; a system with nutrition that works for you, your schedule, and the foods you love. And that's going to be different than the system that works for me. You need a system around your movement and your exercise. To make sure you're getting enough movement every day, even when you have a busy job, you may not have time to get into the gym, all these other things.

And these are the excuses that we use to prevent ourselves. If we have a system in place, if we have a little strategic planning, we can be consistent over the long haul. And then there's this whole piece of accountability and motivation. When it comes to getting healthy, we need to really know our deep “why.” Why does this matter?

Why is it worth it right now to listen to this podcast? Why is it worth it right now for you to make investing in your exercise, your nutrition, your sleep, your health, your hydration? Why is this important to you? We need to discover that, too. We need systems in these areas, and here's the promise. When you get some systems in place with your nutrition, your exercise, and your motivation, you can see amazing results, but most importantly, you can sustain those results because the systems running as your system; it's one you created.

So over the course of this entire show, we're going to do a couple of things. One thing we're going to do is break down these systems. What do the most successful guys who have amazing health and shape — guys who've lost a hundred pounds in their 40s, guys with six-pack abs in their 50s, guys in their 60s who are running marathons … what are these guys doing differently? What are their systems? So what have they learned that works for them? I'm going to share that with you. We're also going to talk about some of the medical science, some of the research-backed things you can do when it comes to nutrition, sleep, and exercise, to see better results, to have better vitality, and together on top of all of this, you and I are going to raise this flag, this Fit Father flag, and we're going to charge forward in life together.

We're going to put an end to the idea that you're over the hill, this idea that when you hit a certain age, it's OK to just roll on your back, put your legs up, and give up. To stop taking care of yourself, to stop striving for all the amazing things you want in life. Because what I believe is as men, this is baked into our DNA.

This pursuit, the pursuit of becoming the best version of ourselves at any age. Well, we call it here on the podcast, “taking the hill” — that hill being where you want to go the enemy, you want to defeat the goal. What you want to reach with your health, with your finances, with your family, with your emotions, with anything that is your hill.

And we are here to take that hill. We're going to take that hill with strategy. We're going to take that hill by tapping into our deep motivation to succeed. We're going to take that hill together with brotherhood comradery, amazing stories, and support that my team and I are going to give you on this podcast.

And that's why I'm so excited. Like literally this is going to be one of the best things ever. And if you're a guy over 40, this is the show you need to listen to because they're for you. No nonsense, no BS, straight to the point. So on that note, what I want you to do is listen to the very next episode.

We're going to start diving into this stuff, breaking down the nitty-gritty. We're gonna talk about systems. I'm going to share stories with you of real guys who were in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, who chose to make some different changes who chose to take up the Fit Father flag, who chose to charge up the hill for their health.

And they've transformed completely. They now experience amazing energy age, defying muscle. They have abs, they've gotten rid of the belly fat, but most importantly, they know how to keep it all off. They know how to sustain the results of the long haul and they know how to be an inspiration for their family, for their friends, for their community, because these guys have made a real transformation.

The show is about real transformation and that means physical. It means mental and changing your mindset. It means spiritual and emotional, tapping deep into your reasons for living healthy. I'll tell you this, you are the farthest thing from over the hill. It's time for you to make the choice to take the hill back.
