Benjamin Franklin once said, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” Aging may be unavoidable, but that doesn’t mean you have to give in without a fight. It may even be possible to reverse the aging process.

But what you don’t appreciate is the increase in fragility and decline in energy. Every action you take has consequences, and the risks increase as you age.

The simple fact is that you need to make the most of today. By building the right habits today, you can reverse the aging process and enjoy good health into your 80’s, 90’s and even past 100!

The Problem With Aging

The main problem with aging is that everyone has the perception that you grow weaker physically and mentally. This can and does happen to many people, but it doesn’t need to be the route you take.

Slower metabolism

As your metabolism starts to slow, your body will have less energy, and you’re more likely to store fat. This can lead to an array of health issues.

Weakened Mind

As you age, cells start to die. This can lead to memory issues and the physical weakening of your body. Currently, this is accepted as part of the aging process, but it doesn’t need to be!

Being slim is not the same as being healthy. Fat can stick to your organs and prevent them from getting the nutrients they need. A balanced diet can prevent this from happening.

Simply choose an exercise you love and commit to doing it for 30 minutes, preferably 5 times a week.

Don’t forget that it’s just as important to exercise your mind; this will keep it in top condition as you age.

Never underestimate the importance of sleep. Adult men should get between 6 and 8 hours a night. This is the time your hormones balance, and muscles and other injuries heal and grow. You’ll also benefit from an increased production of collagen.

Collagen is essential for providing you with plumper skin and preventing wrinkles.

Too much sleep may mean you’re missing out on opportunities, but too little will speed up the aging process.

Reduce stress

Positive Thinking

The power of positive thinking is often underestimated.

As you age, you’ll become more aware of the risks of any action. This can lead to a mentality of “I can’t do that.”

Unfortunately, this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Think positively, tell yourself you can do anything, and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. It will help to reverse the aging process.

This hardly needs to be said, but if you have unhealthy habits such as smoking, then it’s time to stop. Smoking can reduce your life expectancy by as much as 8.8 years.

It will also make you look older.

It is also important to look at what other unhealthy habits you have. A packet of biscuits before bed is not a good idea or drinking more than 2 glasses of wine a day.

Again, the way to reverse the aging process is not to deny yourself things but to embrace life and take everything in moderation.
